[...] Wyn posted a noteworthy aricle today onHere’s a small snippetIn his book The Spirit of the Disciplines Richard Foster says, “To pray is to change. Prayer is the central avenue God uses to transform us. If we are unwilling to change, we will abandon prayer as a noticeable characteristic of our lives.” … We want so much to get our way even in prayer. We need to realize that God knows what is best for each and every one of us. He knows more than we will ever know.
I think that Jesus makes it pretty clear during his conversation with the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4 that worship is not tied to a specific time or a specific place, but that it is a continual thing. So while we can, should, and do worship in specific places at specific times - like our Sunday morning services - we are not to confine or limit it to just that. We are to worship continuously as part of our lifestyle.

And worship is not something done only by Christians - everyone is a worshiper whether they think they are or not. Like you said, it is about who and/or what we love. Look at the football fan who spends an entire day and over $100 down at the stadium ten weeks a year, and lives and dies by the results of last week's game (I've got a post coming on my blog about this real soon) or this year's season - they are worshiping. Show me someone who says they are not a worshiper. Give me ten minutes with their checkbook register and their calendar. That is all I need to show them what they are worshiping. Good post.

Just another disturbing example of a supposed Christian leader taking a stance on an issue without backing it up biblically. More and more, these guys are using their platforms to endorse their opinions in a way that leads many people to believe that what they are saying is spiritual truth. I hate to burst their bubble, but just because they believe something does not make it truth. And it certainly does not make it biblical. Which I think deep down inside, they know, because 90% of the time these guys never mention what Scriptures can back their claims. And if they do cite Scipture, they either do it completely out of context or have re-interpreted it to jive with what they are teaching. Correct me if I am wrong, but last time I checked, the Bible is not open to picking and choosing or re-interpretation to make it say what we want it to say.
